Perlin Noise

Generators like Marble and the Perlin Noise function itself use a synthesis of multiple noise functions with different resolutions.

The number of noise functions is defined by the Octaves value. A higher value leads to a more detailed result.

The Persistence value controls the mixing valence of the octaves. If you decrease the value, the influence of the higher octaves to the result will drop.

The Resolution value controls the average size of the features. Increasing this value by one step leads to a structure with doubled resolution and reduces the feature size by 50%.
