The Color Gradient Designer is called from the Color panel. The Color Gradient is used to translate the brightness values of the texture or Generator function to a user defined set of colors.
A gradient is defined by a series of control points, which have each a position and a color. Between the control points, the colors of the neighboring control points are interpolated, creating a smooth gradient. Click somewhere on the gradient area to add a control point. The Color Selection Dialog will open to let you choose a color. Use the To delete all control points, press the Clear button. Use the Reduce button to optimize a gradient. It makes the number of control points be reduced by interpolating neighbored control points.
